Leni Harper is a Scottish actress, best known for playing Maddie in Me And My Girl.
Her breakthrough role was in a 1981 West End production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. In 1982, she was recruited for the role of spinning the Whirly Wheel on the first series of The Late Late Breakfast Show, but her "whirlybird" role was dropped after three shows, although pre-filmed inserts were seen for a further three weeks. During 1982 / 1983 Leni appeared in the BBC teatime sketch show 'Dear Heart' which also featured Billy Hartman (later to become a regular on the ITV soap 'Emmerdale') Nicky Croydon, Bob Goody (former comedy partner of 'Not The Nine O' Clock News' actor Mel Smith, before the Smith / Griff Rhys Jones days) and Trevor Laird. Soon after, she landed a part in ITV's hit sitcom Me And My Girl starring Richard O'Sullivan.
Harper played the hostess in BBC1's So You Want to be Top (1984-85) and found a longer-running role in LWT's comedy Me and My Girl (1984-85). She played Meg in a touring production of The Meg and Mog Show, appeared in Radio 2's McKay the New (1989-91), and had a recurring role in the 1994 series of Chucklevision (BBC1).
